​TEAM WHISTLE CELEBRATES WORLD TRICK SHOT DAY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH META ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7

Creators and Athletes like Rachel DeMita, Deestroying, Briana Green and Famous Los to Participate Sharing Their Celebration of Trick Shots While Encouraging Users to Show Their Moves

NEW YORK –(December 7, 2021) – Team Whistle, the global sports and entertainment media company, is celebrating World Trick Shot Day in partnership with Meta on Tuesday, December 7. World Trick Shot Day was coined by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, the originators of the trick shot, to bring this celebration to give enthusiasts a chance to showcase their most impressive shots. The program will see creators and athletes posting their best trick shots to Instagram and Facebook Reels while encouraging users to share their best videos and join the movement on #WorldTrickShotDay.

“Instagram and Facebook are places where creators can thrive, both creatively and economically, " said Dev Sethi, Head of Instagram Sports. "Sports creators, in particular, have an amazing presence on our apps, so we’re excited to partner with Team Whistle to showcase some of their work through the always-entertaining lens of trick shots.”

Over 75 of the top sports influencers and athletes will participate on World Trick Shot Day posting their videos to Instagram and Facebook. Top creators like Rachel DeMita, Deestroying, Briana Green and Famous Los will participate in the event, sharing their own trick shots and encouraging their fans to do the same. Fans will vote on their favorite submissions from fellow participants through reels, carousels, and stories on Whistle’s Instagram Page.

"I’ve been playing basketball my whole life, so now as a content creator and sports personality, trick shots are a big part of my content,” said Rachel DeMita.” I love coming up with new trick shot ideas that fit my unique skills and personal style. Hopefully my videos will motivate and inspire my followers and other creators to think outside the box and get creative with their trick shots. That’s what #WorldTrickShotDay is all about.”

“I have been creating trick shots since the very beginning of my career and it’s a huge reason why I am who I am today,” said Deestroying. “My motto has always been to destroy every obstacle and making the best video possible for #WorldTrickShotDay is no different. I expect my followers to get involved and do the same.”
