NEW YORK –(October 13, 2021) –Team Whistle, the global sports and entertainment media company today announced a partnership with KFC, purveyors of the world’s most famous fried chicken, on a new episode of ‘Cheat Day’ to celebrate and promote its KFC Chicken Sandwich across Whistle’s YouTube channel and social media handles. ‘Cheat Day’ is a series that follows athletes, entertainers, and celebrities as they dive into their favorite meals. Over the course of the episode, viewers spend time the day with NBA star and Philadelphia 76ers Forward, Tobias Harris and his younger sister, Tori, who’s currently a Division 1 NCAA hooper herself. Tobias and Tori kick back and enjoy some pool time in beautiful San Diego, while testing out KFC’s best chicken sandwich yet.

The ongoing chicken sandwich wars is summarized by fried chicken sandwiches suddenly being a menu item everywhere across chains. Some unexpected chain contenders have even joined the fight. Since 2000, beef prices have risen by 45%, while chicken prices have declined by 25%. These trends have likely played an important role in the rise of chicken. Gen Z presented the highest percentage of respondents self-reporting they were spending more on quick service when compared to pre-COVID times. Known as fried chicken experts, KFCis well-positioned in the continued battle.
