TEAM WHISTLE HIRES EVAN SILVER AS VP OF ORIGINAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

Since Hitting 5 Billion Views and 7 Million Hours Watched Year to Date, Whistle Continues Investment in Original Programming

NEW YORK –(December 2, 2021) –Team Whistle, the global sports and entertainment media company today announced the new hire of Evan Silver as VP of Original Content Development where he will help shape and lead the organization's original content slate from development and strategy to execution. This most recent hire comes on the heels of Whistle’s O&O hitting 5 billion views and 7 million hours watched year to date. Branded renewals across originals increased 100% for 2020 to 2021. Evan Silver will be based in New York and report to Noah Weissman, Team Whistle’s SVP of Content.

With a focus on its video first Gen Z and Millennial audience, Whistle continues to create positive, relatable, original sports adjacent content across YouTube, Instagram, Snap, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook. Its growing library of original titles include: ‘No Days Off’, ‘Days Off’, ‘My Hustle’, ‘Meet the Pets,’ ‘Cheat Day,’ ‘Dunk League,’ ‘Double Duty,’ ‘Reload My Room’ ‘I Could Do That’’ and more. Originals also window and premiere on Whistle TV, Team Whistle’s free ad-supported sports and entertainment digital network available on The Roku Channel and other OTT platforms including: Samsung TV Plus, Vizio, TCL, Plex, DistroTV, STIRR, and LocalNow.

For the last five years, Evan Silver has served as Senior Director of Creative Strategy at Bleacher Report’s in-house creative agency and branded content studio, Playmaker. There, he established the creative strategy function and oversaw the ideation and creation of original IP and branded video for partners. Before that, he served as Strategy Director for Team Epiphany where he developed creative, social and event strategy for sport-culture clients such as Nike, Converse and Jordan Brand. As a freelance features contributor, Evan has covered style, culture and entrepreneurship for HypeBeast and Complex respectively.
